Passport and Visa
Any foreign visitor wishing to enter the Republic of Korea
must have a valid passport. Visitors with confirmed outbound
tickets may stay in Korea up to 30 days without visas. Exceptions
to this may apply to citizens of some countries. Please
confirm the requirement of visas.
Electricity
Electricity is generally supplied in 220 volts. However,
110 volt supply is also available in many places. Always
check the power supply before using your equipment.
Climate
Gyeongju belongs to the temperate zone featured by four
distinctive seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The yearly average temperature of Gyeongju is 15.6 degrees
C. The temperature in October varies from daily high temperature
of 25 ¡ÆC to daily low temperature of 15 ¡ÆC.
Currency
The unit of Korean currency is the Won. Coin denominations
are £Ü10, £Ü50, £Ü100, £Ü500, and bank notes are £Ü1,000, £Ü5,000
and £Ü10,000. Foreign currency and traveler¡¯s checks can
be converted into Korean Won at foreign exchange banks and
other authorized money exchangers. Credit cards, including
VISA, Master Card, American Express, Diners Club, and JCB,
are accepted at most hotels, department stores, and restaurants.
The exchange rate is subject to fluctuation. As of August
5, USD 1 is about £Ü1,180.
